Microbusiness Development Program

Always wanted to start a business? Need funding to kickstart your idea?

You've always wanted to start your own business, but you don't know where to start. Maybe you're a farmer that wants to start a business to grow and sell food in Mansfield. You might be scared, though, that your idea isn't good enough or that you don't have what it takes to make it a success. Or maybe you recently launched a business but don't have a business plan necessary to get the loans you need.

As part of our Microbusiness Development Program, we're excited to announce the launch of our Business Plan Writing Course. If you complete the course, you will be eligible to apply for a microloan (of at least $500)!

What is it?

In the Business Plan Writing Course, our Certified Business Advisor (CBA) will take you through the step-by-step process of writing a business plan that you can use to launch your startup and look for funding. After completing the 8-session course, not only will you have a business plan ready to use to launch your startup, but you will also be eligible to apply for a microloan (of at least $500).

This course will guide you through the creation of:

* Executive Summary (Who? Why?)                     * Business Description (What?)

* Market Analysis (Where?)                                   * Organizational Management (Team Members)

* Sales and Marketing Plan (Strategy)                   * Financial Projections

The next class start March 19 and graduation will be April 11. We will run multiple sessions of this course throughout the year, so if you miss the March-April series you can always sign up for it later in the year.

How are we different?

We are an Asset-Based Community Development corporation with years of experience convening and collaborating with constituents in the community. We focus on people's gifts and assets, not their deficits. We also don't work in silos, which means that by connecting with us you also connect with our community partners, the supportive services they offer, and NECIC programs.
