I had a wonderful turnout for the amazing class, Introduction to Farmers Market Vending, the first of a series of market classes that N.E.C.I.C will offer in 2016.

I was pleased to offer the chance for attendees to discover why they should become a vendor, what they are legally allowed to sell as a vendor, and what it takes to get started in market vending.  The program even touched on the vending requirements for other Farmers Markets in Richland County, in addition to our own North End Farmers Market.

The workshop covered ways to increase market profits, licensing and permits, and questions to ask your market manager.

Along with my co-workers, we were able to answer many of the burning questions about market vending. This class helped attendees decide whether or not they should become a market vendor.

We had such a wonderful class with amazing old and new 2016 Farmers Market potential vendors. Thank you to all who were able to attend. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming class Seed Starting Indoors: Planning Your Home or Market Garden with NECIC Teaching Garden Coordinator Candace Harrell.
