We need YOU at North End Neighbor Up Night!

North End Neighbor Up Night is really picking up here at NECIC, but we need YOU to make the evening complete! It may sound like a stuffy, boring meeting if you've never been, but it's really a lot of fun. We can be a little silly (see above photo!).

But we still have serious discussion. At the June meeting, topics presented by residents were: ways to increase attendance at the Elder Program; lawn care for elders; and activities to occupy neighborhood youth. David Spain also spoke about the issue of immediate response for first responders.

Here's how this part works: attendees present issues they would like to discuss, and the group votes for three. Attendees then divide into three groups, one for each issue, and take notes on the ideas they come up with. At the end of the allotted time, the group comes back together as a whole and reviews the suggestions. Then other attendees offer additional solutions and resources. At the end of the evening is the "Bump and Spark" session, where people get together and form a plan of attack to solve those issues. This puts the power in the hands of the residents, with NECIC offering support and guidance as requested.

North End Neighbor Up Night isn't just for North End residents. People from all across the area are welcome. It's an excellent way to pick up some new ideas for your own community, and we'd be happy to help you in starting your own Neighbor Up Night.
