The North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) is looking for a highly organized and community-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our team! The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for residents, guests, and partners—providing a welcoming experience while supporting the work of NECIC through high-level administrative support.
This role plays a key part in the day-to-day operations of our organization, working closely with the CEO and COO to manage calendars and appointments, supporting enrollment efforts for NECIC Staffing and MBAC, and assisting with communication and coordination across departments. You’ll also help support community outreach by assisting with check-ins and events, often in partnership with our Community Organizer.
Greet and assist visitors, clients, and guests with professionalism and warmth
Answer and route incoming phone calls; manage general inquiries and messages
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
Manage calendar scheduling for the CEO and COO
Support appointment check-ins and check-outs for meetings, services, and events
Assist with enrollment and administrative support for NECIC Staffing and MBAC
Collect and enter information into NECIC’s CRM system
Maintain organized records, filing systems, and internal databases
Distribute mail, prepare materials, and assist with logistics for community events
Help promote NECIC programs through flyers, email, and social media coordination
Coordinate with the Community Organizer on event planning and outreach
Provide support for special projects, board meetings, and community-facing initiatives
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service and ability to create a welcoming environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer/tech skills
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
Able to work independently while also being a team player
Comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life in a non-judgmental way
Knowledge of local community resources is a plus
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in office administration, reception, or community-based roles preferred
This role involves a mix of office and light physical activity. You should be comfortable:
Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods
Lifting up to 25 lbs (event supplies, materials, etc.)
Navigating outdoor terrain and participating in clean-up or outreach events
Typing, filing, and using office equipment
Working evenings and weekends
