Type: Full-Time | Flexible Schedule Required

Position Summary

The MATI Community Impact Coordinator will lead NECIC’s efforts to improve transportation access, reduce mobility barriers, and advance equity across Mansfield’s North End and surrounding communities. This hands-on role combines community organizing, project coordination, and data management to ensure residents’ voices guide lasting change.

As the outreach and recruitment arm of NECIC, you’ll be building trust, sharing resources, supporting civic engagement, and helping neighbors turn ideas into action. From hosting community events to connecting residents with services, your work will directly strengthen outcomes in health, safety, education, housing, and workforce development — creating meaningful impact across the community.

You’ll work closely with people from diverse racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, including youth, seniors, returning citizens, and families — helping ensure that every voice, regardless of income or background, has a seat at the table.

What You’ll Do

  • Project Coordination & Administration

    • Lead day-to-day implementation of the MATI project and ensure all deliverables and documentation are completed on time.

    • Manage participant scheduling, communication, and data tracking.

    • Maintain organized records for compliance, reporting, and research accuracy.

    • Collaborate with NECIC leadership, the MATI Steering Committee, and University of Minnesota research partners.

    • Prepare meeting summaries, progress updates, and evaluation reports.

    Community Outreach & Engagement

    • Build strong relationships with residents, community partners, and local organizations.

    • Recruit participants through events, schools, and neighborhood outreach.

    • Connect residents to NECIC resources like workforce training, mentoring, elder programs, and neighborhood cleanups.

    • Represent NECIC at community events, public meetings, and local forums.

    Supervision & Team Support

    • Provide leadership and coordination for interviews and data collection staff.

    • Support training, scheduling, and performance tracking for project team members.

    • Ensure compliance with research protocols and confidentiality standards.

    Marketing & Communications

    • Work with NECIC’s marketing team to create outreach materials (flyers, social media, radio, web).

    • Promote public awareness about MATI using clear, community-friendly language.

    • Help tell the story of NECIC’s impact through participant stories and project highlights.

    Program Integration

    • Connect MATI to other NECIC initiatives like workforce development, small business growth, youth programming, and urban agriculture.

    • Help plan and facilitate transportation dialogues, community forums, and educational workshops.

    • Advance NECIC’s mission to build equity and opportunity through the North End Community Platform.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in community organizing, project coordination, or program management.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Experience working with diverse and underrepresented communities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data management tools.

  • Commitment to Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and NECIC’s mission.

  • Available for a flexible schedule that will include evenings and weekends.

Preferred Background:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in community development, human services, education, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with ABCD principles and local community development strategies.

Additional Details:

  • Term: 18-month, grant-funded position (renewal dependent on funding).

  • Travel: Occasional travel required for meetings or trainings hosted by the University of Minnesota and project partners.

  • Meetings: Regular attendance required for NECIC team sessions and MATI committee meetings.
